Diagenesis and reservoir-quality of sandstones in the Lower Cretaceous Potiguar rift basin, northeastern Brazil (Petrobras, Brazil). This project aimed at linking diagenesis to basin formation and evolution.

 

Porosity preservation in lithic reservoirs of the Carmopolis Member, Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, northeastern Brazil (Petrobras, Brazil). The work focused on unravelling the factors controlling the fairly good reservoir quality of these sandstones that are rich in ductile lithic fragments.

 

The impact of diagenesis on reservoir quality of Early Cretaceous Serraria Sandstones in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, NE Brazil (Petrobras, Brazil). The aims of this study, which was conducted based on extensive core description and sampling, were to unravel the basin-wide variations in reservoir quality of the sandstones and to linking these variations to the burial history curves that vary in different parts of the basin.

 

Diagenesis and reservoir-quality evolution of sandstones during progressive burial and uplift of the Upper Jurassic Boipeba Member, Reconcavo Basin, NE Brazil (Petrobras, Brazil). The aim of this project was to unravel factors controlling variations in reservoir quality of sandstones from braided from those from meandering fluvial systems.

 

Diagenesis and reservoir properties of Palaeocene deep-marine systems, the Faeroe-Shetland Basin (Saga Petroleum, Norway). The aim of this project was to understand the impact of facies variations and diagenesis on reservoir quality variations and on the scale and magnitude of reservoir heterogeneity.

 

The impact of diagenesis on reservoir-quality evolution of fluvial and deltaic sandstones and of crystalline rocks during basin subsidence and uplift (Xi’an District Petroleum Administration Bureau, China). The aim of this project was to unravel the creation versus preservation of reservoir porosity and permeability in sandstones and crystalline rocks.

 

Prediction of the quality of a sandstone gas reservoir, the Nile Delta based on linking diagenesis and sequence stratigraphy, BP Oil Company, Egypt. This project aimed at understanding the parameters controlling reservoir quality evolution and of the high water saturation values in the gas reservoirs.

 

Diagenesis and reservoir quality evolution in turbidites of offshore Brazil (Petrobras, Brazil). This project aims at: (i) unravelling the impact of diagenesis on reservoir-quality variation and on scale and extent of heterogeneity, and (ii) using diagenetic alterations to track the distribution of biodegraded oil in the basin.

 

Parameters controlling reservoir heterogeneity in deep-water reservoir sandstones from the North Sea (Maersk Petroleum, Denmark). The aim of this project was to unravel and predict reservoir quality variations and prediction based on relatively few scattered core material.
