• 35 Years at the Rio Grande do Sul Federal University as Researcher and Professor of Sedimentary Petrology, Diagenesis and Provenance

• Bachelor in Geology (Rio Grande do Sul Federal University, Brazil)
• Master in Reservoir Geology (Ouro Preto Federal University, Brazil)
• PhD in Mineralogy, Petrology and Tectonics (Uppsala University, Sweden)
Accomplishments
• Published more than 100 scientific papers in highly ranked geologic journals and reference books
• Coordinated many projects for Petrobras, Chevron, Shell and other exploration companies on diagenesis, provenance, characterization and quality of clastic and carbonate reservoirs.
• Supervised 14 PhD students and 37 Master students
